What To Expect

Welcome!

We know coming to a new church can be worrysome for many reasons.  We hope to address any concerns you might have.  If you still have questions, feel free to contact us and someone will be happy to answer those questions for you.

What to Wear: We are a church in a community that features farming, small home town business, and professionals.  What does that mean?  It means you will see anything at our church from jeans and t-shirts to dresses.  People wear what they feel comfortable in, and you should too.

Where to Park:  The church has a rock parking lot to the South and some parking spaces on the street directly to the East on Walnut Street and North on Second Street.  We like to 'reserve' those spots in front of the church for those not quite as steady on their feet.

Are Children Welcome:  Yes! Children are always welcome at Grace United Methodist Church.  Each service offers a children's sermon.  Sunday School is offered during the 8:45 service.  Click here to read more about our children's programs.  A cry room is available just off the over-flow sanctuary.

Entering the Church: Like many churches, our building has expanded over time and there are many entrances.  The main church entry is to the East off of Walnut Street. If stairs are difficult, there is an entry to the North through glass doors off of Second Street, and an elevator is available to take you up to the sanctuary.  If you park in the rock lot, there is an entry door up the stairs through the Sunday School area.

Faiths Welcome:  All Christian faiths are welcome to worship at Grace United Methodist Church.

Communion:  Communion is offered the first Sunday of every month, and is an open communion.  You will often hear our Pastor remark: "You need not be a member of our church or any church.  All who draw near by faith are welcome at the table of the Lord."  At Grace, we tear a piece of bread from the loaf and dip it into the grace juice.  We also offer a gluten-free communion.

Offering:  Offering is collected at each service time.  Grace uses offerings to support many activities, missions, and the church building itself.  The church openly reports how all funds are used, and any amount is thankfully welcomed.

Fellowship:  Fellowship is offered immediately following the 8:45 service. It usuall runs from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m.  It gives church members the opportunity reconnect and enjoy snacks and beverages provided by members.

Church Membership:  You do not have to be a member of the church to worship with us.  If you find our church community to be a match for your theological beliefs and worship style, we would welcome your membership.  This is accomplished by a declaration of faith with our congregational family.
